Environment and Language Integrated Learning paths - CLIL for Young Learners (4-12)
A project from European teachers for other European teachers to implement CLIL for young learners
All too often we are giving young people cut flowers
when we should be teaching them to grow their own plants.”
John W. Gardner
The idea of our e-CLIL4YOU project comes from the need to create learning environments able to develop the lifelong learning key competences addressed by the Council of Europe. The partnership shares the common belief that starting from “early childhood” is essential to help young people acquire the basic life-skills necessary for their personal development, whose communication in foreign languages, learning to learn and digital competence are essentials. As a consequence, the Comenius multilateral project is aimed to merge the expertise of schools from ten European countries (Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, Turkey) in designing discovery activities for students aged 4 to 12 and experimenting effective teaching and learning strategies able to facilitate the learning of both content and language (CLIL) in different European school contexts. The partnership has created a set of materials related to the theme “Environment”, sustainable and transferable to other school contexts with students from 4 to 12 years old. You can navigate through the materials in the left bar of this website.
