EUROPEAN KEY COMPETENCES ADDRESSED BY THE PROJECT
Communication in the mother tongue: inclusive environments have been created to give all the students the possibility to express concepts, thoughts, feelings and to interact linguistically in an appropriate and creative way in a wide range of social and cultural contexts;
Communication in foreign languages: it has been encouraged and supported by the CLIL approach and the involvement of the languages of the ten partner countries in a multicultural perspective (multilingual glossaries and multilingual Animal cartoon);
Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology: students have been involved in "discovery learning tasks" involving problem solving and application of knowledge in different situations, with the emphasis placed on processes. The theme of the project (Environment) has implied an understanding of the changes caused by human activity and the responsibility of each individual as a citizen;
Digital competence: the development of basic skills and critical use of ICT has been ensured by the use of a wide range of cooperative and media tools (glogster, Voki, blogs, project website, skype, creation of cartoons and games, etc) that have allowed students, educational staff and external partners to interact actively in creating and editing materials cooperatively, discussing and exchange materials;
Learning to learn: a set of teaching/learning strategies has been experimented to facilitate content and language learning and promote autonomous and cooperative learning;
Social and civic competences.the project cooperative activities have allowed students, teachers and school staff to participate in an active and constructive way in the project life, to develop European citizenship and being aware of the value of other cultures;
Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship: students, teachers and school staff have developed the ability to turn ideas into action by managing the project in a creative way and implementing it with new activities. The exchange of good practices and expertise between the partner Institutions has also supported improvements in pedagogical approaches and school management in each partner Institute.
Cultural awareness and expression: mobilities of educational staff, job shadowing experiences, teacher exchanges (see documentation in the website) and project activities have involved the appreciation of creative expression of ideas, the ability of mediation and intercultural understanding.
The slideshow is related to teacher exchanges (teachers working in the partner schools) and Italian students visiting the French partner school.
