THE PROJECT: ECLIL4YOU
- Comenius multilateral project 2012-14 enlarged to two expetrnal partners (Romania and Greece) through the eTwinning European platform
- Partnership - 8 countries involved - 9 schools (Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey); 2 external partners
- Aims - increasing creativity and motivation in early language learning; exploiting the use of a wide range of web 2.0 tools and social networking in order to rise confidence in learners and educational staff towards the use of New Technologies; encouraging young people and educational staff to think “outside the box”, learn other languages and be aware of the value of the diversity of European environments; creating a set of teaching and learning CLIL materials related to the theme Environment , suitable and graduated for learners of different ages.
- Collaborative tools - etwinning platform - web 2.0/3.0 tools
- Methodology - CLIL - cooperative/autonomous/discovery learning - peer learning - critical and creative thinking approach.
- Innovation-creativity-trasferability - the project has gathered 11 European schools in the development of CLIL materials for students aged 5 to 12 in educational contexts in which CLIL is not compulsory but represents a real innovation in terms of strategies to improve language and content learning. It wants to give evidence to the possibility to introduce the CLIL methodology at early stage by documenting experiences, strategies and materials created by students and teachers using ICT and other resources in a creative and thinking way! The materials can be transferred to other countries and used to promote multilingual education (see multilingual animal cartoon in the CLIL animals section)
- eTwinning: the European platform has been used to CREATE materials in a cooperative way and to share games aimed to learn subject contents in English mainly but also the partne languages have been used.
- Communication and cooperation between the partners has been implemented not only through the use of the etwinning platform but also through the use of other tools such as google group, google drive, dropbox, padlet, skype.
