It was built for producing and marketing sweet Málaga wine, as well as for obtaining extra virgin olive oil and bread making.
People lived there till 1980. The last tenant was the forest warden.
Nowadays is an ecomuseum where visitors can learn about the region's traditional wine making process. They can also visit rooms where they will find the ovens used to bake bread, an olive mill and even the living quarters.
